The River will blow up this month

9 Aug

The River begins shooting this month in Hawaii and we couldn’t me more excited for a boatload of updates. For one, we know that casting changes have already happened. Second, ABC has started a viral campaign trying to get some buzz going with a couple new videos including one on their Facebook page that shows Emmet still alive, as he stumbles across hoardes of dead soldiers. He gives us more clues as to what we can expect.

Stay tuned, and keep in touch with us on Facebook and Twitter. Cheers.

The River will be scary, not gory

26 Jul

The River made a big splash at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. We learned more about the show and its cast, which we will share with you in several Comic-Con posts. First and most interesting to me were the thoughts from executive producer Oren Peli and writers Zack Estrin and Michael Green.

Lost is the best Thrill TV show ever

18 Jul

Jack, Juliet, Ben

The readers have spoken, and Lost is the best Thrill TV show ever. Firefly fans put up a great fight – on the blog, Facebook and Twitter, but they were no match for the Losties on Twitter and Google+.

You can see the final bracket here. Lost directly beat Stargate SG-1, Eerie, Indiana, Alfred Hitchock Presents, The Twilight Zone, and Firefly. 32 shows competed, one took the crown.

Thank you all for voting. Stay tuned for updates on The River at Comic-Con! Connect with us on Facebook for more updates.

Official Dark Knight Rises Trailer Teaser

We’re geared for The River, but we also interested in thrillers like Christopher Nolan’s fantastic Batman series. The Dark Knight Rises debut in summer 2012, but the first teaser trailer is available today. See it after the jump.

Video Interview with Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden

17 Jul

Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden are back in the news, and it looks a reality show is on the way. To date, our most popular story at The River Fans is Horace from Lost marries a 16-year-old, which told the creepy story of 51-year-old Hutchison marrying a 16-year-old wannabe pop singer. We also followed up that story by publishing a copy of Courtney Stodden’s birth certificate, proving that she is actually 16 (many people thought she was lying for publicity). The happy couple sat down for an interview on Good Morning America, and we have the video.

Interview with TV Critic Jo Garfein

13 Jul

Michael Emerson and Jo Garfein

Jo Garfein says Lost “spawned an amazing community.” She was one of the great voices on the web during and after the show. Her theories brought her notoriety, a drove of Twitter fans, and writing work for AOL TV and others. These days she’s freelancing and working on a new blog for Fox’s upcoming show Alcatraz. We wanted to talk with her ahead of Comic-Con. Read on to see what she has to say about The River, Alcatraz, Jorge Garcia, JJ Abrams, and more.
