Paul Blackthorne’s character Clark is the producer of the documentary in The River. He is Emmet‘s ex-producer, and we are lead to be suspicious of him. Tess hires him back because the documentary will fund the rescue mission. Sammy and Andreus work as cameramen under Clark.

The English actor was the lead actor in Sci-Fi’s The Dresden Files, and he has played several supporting roles in shows like ER, 24, Lipstick Jungle, Monk, Deadwood, and Medium.

As we’ve told you before, Eloise Mumford plays the role of Lena Landry in The River. Her character is often characterized as “sexy and resourceful.” But here’s what else you need to know about Lena.

Joe Anderson, Paulina Gaitan & Paul Blackthorne

Joe Anderson, from the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 1 & 2, stars as Lincoln Cole in The River. We don’t know much about his character yet, except that he felt distanced from his father, Emmet. Lincoln seems to have gladly moved on when his father goes missing, and he seems all too bothered when his mother Tess tries to convince him that Emmet is still alive.

I’m sure that Lincoln will be among the most interesting characters in The River, because he is a doubter. A doubter in himself, his father and his mother. He is also a skeptic when it comes to the “magic” of the Amazon. Lincoln will likely be our most transformative character. He will give up his heavy drinking and meandering ways to become a believer.

The story keep unfolding:

To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero. To his own son Lincoln (Joe Anderson), he was more of an enigma. Leslie Hope stars as Tess Cole

24 alumna Leslie Hope has landed the female lead in ABC’s drama pilot The River, a thriller/horror drama from Paranormal Activity mastermind Oren Peli, which is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Described as being in the mold of Paranormal Activity, The River centers on Tess (Hope), a world traveler and top-notch producer who, six months after her TV explorer husband Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood) goes missing in the Amazon, receives a signal from his beacon. Convinced that Emmet is alive, Tess forces her reluctant son Lincoln (Joe Anderson) to abandon his medical studies and lead a rescue expedition. Hope, repped by Domain and manager Perry Zimel, has been recurring on The Mentalist.

Bruce Greenwood

As we head toward the upcoming debut of The River, we will be highlighting some of the cast members. Bruce Greenwood stars at Emmet Cole, who one would assume is the protagonist of this story. But because he has gone missing, maybe his courageous wife, Tess, will end up being our biggest character?
